  1. Wheat Flour (Atta)     2    cups
  2. Maida     1    cup
  3. Water to make dough    1    cup
  4. Oil for frying    1    tbsp
  5. Salt to taste     1    tsp


  1. Mix the wheat flour,maida and salt.
  2. Slowly add the water and knead, making a soft dough.
  3. Shape dough into a ball and rub a few drops of oil.
  4. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for 1-2 hours.
  5. Divide the dough into lemon sized portions.
  6. Dip a flattened ball into the dry flour and coat it on all sides.
  7. Using a rolling pin, roll out each ball into a round shape.
  8. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the poori.
  9. With a spatula, press the poori to make it puff up.
  10. Fry the first side till golden then turn over and fry the same way on the other side.
  11. Take out the poori and drain it on an absorbent paper.
  12. Poori is ready serve it with best combinations.
