  1. Boneless mackerel(Ayala) -Cooked    ½    Kg
  2. Gambooge(Kudampuli)     2    cloves
  3. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  4. Tapioca(Kappa) -Cooked    ½    Kg
  5. To Grind
    1. Grated Coconut      1    cup
    2. Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    3. Garlic      2    cloves
    4. Ginger      1    pieces
    5. Turmeric Powder      ½    tsp
  6. For Seasoning
    1. Coconut Oil      2    tbsp
    2. Mustard Seeds      ¼    tsp
    3. Onion   Finely Chopped     1    no.
    4. Curry Leaves      2    stalks
    5. Dry Red Chillies      3    no.


  1. Cook the ayala and Gambooge, salt and enough water. Keep it aside.
  2. Grind the ingredients of 5 coconut alone should be coarsely grinded.
  3. Smash the cooked tapioca. In the center of mashed tapioca place the grinded paste and salt. Cook in slow flame.
  4. When steam appears, stir with ladle and add fish.
  5. Heat oil and let the mustard seed to splutter.
  6. Add the onion curry leaves red chilli stir it well, add mix with the already prepared tapioca- fish mixture.
  7. Garnish with coconut serve it hot.
