  1. Chicken     1    Kg
  2. Small Onion / Shallot     200    g
  3. Ginger -chopped    2    tbsp
  4. Garlic -chopped    2    tbsp
  5. Green Chillies -chopped    5    no.
  6. Coconut Strips     ½    cup
  7. Tomato -chopped    1    no.
  8. Curry Leaves     2    stalks
  9. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  10. Pepper Powder     1    tsp
  11. Coriander Powder     2    tsp
  12. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  13. Garam Masala     1    tsp
  14. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  15. Coconut Oil     3    tbsp


  1. Cut chicken in to small pieces and marinate with turmeric powder and salt. Leave it for an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add shallots and sauté well for 5minuts.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, green chilly, and coconut pieces, sauté till it turns brown.
  4. Add all masalas and sauté for 5 minutes.
  5. Add tomato, curry leaves and marinated chicken and cook in low fire.
  6. Close the pan and cook till the gravy is coated with chicken and oil is separated.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
