Minced Mutton Puttu

Ingredients: 

  1. For The Puttu
    1. Rice Powder      2    cup
    2. Grated Coconut      1    cup
    3. Salt to taste      ½    tsp
    4. Water      1    cup
  2. For Meat Filling
    1. Minced Meat      150    g
    2. Ginger Garlic Paste      1    tbsp
    3. Chopped Onion      1    no.
    4. Chopped Green Chillies      3    no.
    5. Chopped Tomato      1    no.
    6. Turmeric Powder      ¼    tsp
    7. Green Chillies      5    no.
    8. Turmeric Powder      ½    tsp
    9. Coriander Powder  to taste    1    tsp
    10. Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    11. Black pepper  Powder    1    tsp
    12. Garam Masala  Powder    ½    tsp
    13. Chopped Coriander Leaves      2    tbsp
    14. Curry Leaves      1    stalks
  3. Salt to taste     ½    tsp

Description:
 

  1. Mix salt with water and add the water little by little to the rice flour and mix it. Keep it aside.
  2. Pressure cook the minced meat turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt. When cooked keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion, green chillies and ginger garlic paste, stir till onion become soft.
  4. Add chopped tomatos, curry leaves and stir well.
  5. When the oil dseparates add the cooked meat and garam masala mix well.
  6. Cook untill the gravy becomes thick. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. For making Puttu, there is a special vessel known as Puttu Kutti which is placed on top of another vessel called Puttu Kudam.
  8. Fill the PuttuKudam with water, not more than half its capacity.
  9. When the steam comes up, fill the puttu mould with little grated coconut , then add the prepared rice flour and meat mixture alternatively. This is done till the top
  10. Close the lid and steam for 10 minutes.
  11. Remove the Puttu kutty from fire and allow it to cool.
  12. Serve it hot.
