  1. Garlic     10    nos.
  2. Tamarind     25    g
  3. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  4. Pepper Powder     ½    tsp
  5. Cumin Seeds Powder     ½    tsp
  6. Red Chillies     4    nos.
  7. Coriander Seeds (Malli)     2    tsp
  8. Ghee     2    tsp
  9. Mustard Seeds     ½    tsp
  10. Curry Leaves -chopped    1    tsp
  11. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Soak tamarind for 30 mts.and extract thin tamarind juice from it.
  2. Peel off skin from garlic and grind it.Add garlic, turmeric powder and salt in tamarind water.Boil it for 5 minutes after mixing pepper and cuminseeds powder.
  3. Fry red chilly and coriander seeds in oil.Powder them smoothly and add them with rasam.
  4. When rasam boils well add 3 cups of water.
  5. Sprout mustard and add curryleaves in ghee.Mix them in rasam. Let it boil 5 more minutes.
