  1. Almonds     1½    cup
  2. Cashew Nuts     ½    cup
  3. Sugar     2    cups
  4. Raisins (Unakka Munthiri)     10    g
  5. Cardamom Seeds (Elakka)     6    nos.
  6. Ghee     150    g
  7. Milk     2    tsp
  8. Saffron     1    pinch
  9. Yellow colour     1    pinch


  1. Soak almonds and cashewnuts separately for 2 hours. Peel off skin from almonds.
  2. Grind them together smoothly with sufficient water.
  3. Fry raisins in ghee. Crush green cardamom into powder.
  4. Dissolve saffron in a little warm milk.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a thick bottomed pan. Add pureed badam,cashew nuts, sugar, raisins, cardamom and soaked safforn with milk and stir it continuously.
  6. Add the rest of ghee one pinch yellow color. Keep stirring them till halwa becomes thick.
  7. Pour the halwa into a greased dish. Allow to cool
  8. Garnish with almonds.
