  1. Chopped Onion     2    nos.
  2. Chopped Tomatoes     2    nos.
  3. Garlic     2    cloves
  4. Dry Red Chillies     6    nos.
  5. Salt to taste    ½    tsp
  6. For Seasoning
    1. Oil      2    tsp
    2. Asafoetida      1    pinch
    3. Curry Leaves      1    stalks
    4. Mustard Seeds      1    tsp
    5. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)      1    tsp


  1. Blend all the chutney ingredients to a smooth paste without water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and allow mustard seeds to splutter.
  3. Add red chillies, curry leaves, urad dal, asafoetida powder, and fry for a minute.
  4. Pour the ground chutney in to the stir it well.
  5. Cook covered over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, serve it.
