  1. Potato     4    nos.
  2. Onion -chopped    1    no.
  3. Coriander Leaves -chopped    1    stalk
  4. Garlic -chopped    1    cloves
  5. Ginger paste     1    tsp
  6. Garam Masala     ½    tsp
  7. Coriander Powder     1    tsp
  8. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  9. Oil     2    tbsp
  10. Turmeric Powder     1    pinch
  11. Mustard Seeds     ¾    tsp
  12. Bengal gram     ¾    tsp
  13. Black gram lentil     ¾    tsp
  14. Curry Leaves     1    stalk
  15. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Clean the potatoes, peel and cut in to rounds.
  2. Cook over heat with salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Place a wok over heat, pour in the oil, add the mustard seeds, black gram lentil and Bengal gram, curry leaves and onion.Add all the remaining ingredients and fry well.
  4. Then add the cooked potatoes and fry gently without breaking them till the gravy is dry.
  5. Serve hot.
