  1. Dry Fish     1    cup
  2. Garlic     8    cloves
  3. Red Chillies     16    nos.
  4. Grated Coconut     ½    cup
  5. Marble-sized ball of Tamarind     1    no.
  6. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Fry the dry fish.Roast the garlic, red chillies and coconut.
  2. When cool, grind this without water along with the tamarind and salt. Then crumble the fish in to small pieces, add to the ground mixture and mix well.
  3. This chutney is best eaten with kanji made out of boiled rice or plain white rice.
