  1. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     2    cups
  2. Rice Powder     ½    cup
  3. Black pepper     1    tsp
  4. Coconut pieces     ½    cup
  5. Green Chillies -chopped    5    nos.
  6. Asafoetida Powder    ½    tsp
  7. Curry Leaves -chopped    1    stalk
  8. Oil For deep frying     1    cup
  9. Ginger     2    tbsp
  10. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Soak split black gram for 1 hour.
  2. Grind split black gram into a thick paste.
  3. In a bowl add the Mix rice flour, green chilly, coconut pieces, black pepper and curry leaves along with the paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, Make balls and drop it in oil.
  5. Deep fry until it becomes golden brown on all sides.
  6. Serve with coconut chutney.
