  1. Coconut grated    1    cup
  2. Red Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  3. Small Onion / Shallot     3    nos.
  4. Green Chillies     1    no.
  5. For Frying
    1. Oil      1    tbsp
    2. Mustard Seeds      1    tsp
    3. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)      ½    tsp
    4. Dry Red Chillies      2    nos.
    5. Curry Leaves      1    stalk


  1. Grind the grated coconut along with small onions, green chilly and red chilly powder.
  2. The coconut should be grinded with water to make it a smooth paste.
  3. Add salt to the coconut paste mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and splutter urad dal and mustard seeds along with dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  5. Pour it into the chutney and serve it hot.
