  1. Big Brinjal     2    no.
  2. Green Chillies     2    no.
  3. Coriander Leaves     1    tsp
  4. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     ½    tsp
  5. Mustard Seeds     ½    tsp
  6. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  7. Curd     2    cups
  8. Oil     1    tsp
  9. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Roast brinjal in fire until it becomes black in colour.
  2. Peel off the skin.Grind it. Add salt and curd.
  3. Heat oil and sprout mustard.Add split back gram, chopped chilly and asafoetida in the mixture.
  4. Sprinkle coriander leaves in the curd-brinjal mix.
