  1. Aval     2    cup
  2. Peanuts     1    cup
  3. Potato     3    nos.
  4. Oil     1    tbsp
  5. Mustard Seeds     1    tsp
  6. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  7. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  8. Salt to taste    ½    tsp
  9. Chilli Powder     ¼    tsp
  10. Chopped Green Chillies     2    nos.
  11. Chopped Onion     1    no.
  12. Chopped Coriander Leaves     2    tbsp
  13. Lime Juice     1    tbsp
  14. Curry Leaves     1    stalks


  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and cut in to small pieces.
  2. Fry the peanutes. Wash the aval quickly and drain away the water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Add the aval and salt.Mix well until dry.
  4. Add boiled potato pieces, chillies, peanuts, and stir slowly for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from fire. Add chopped onion , lime juice and chopped coriander leaves.
