  1. Grated Carrot     2    cups
  2. Milk     2    litre
  3. Cashew Nuts     1    cup
  4. Warm Milk     1    cup
  5. Sugar     ¾    cup
  6. Cardamom Seeds (Elakka)     1    tsp
  7. Ghee     2    tbsp


  1. Soak cashew nuts in 1 cup warm milk for half an hour.
  2. Boil 11/2 litres milk in a heavy bottomed vessel and keep stirring till it is reduced to half the quantity.
  3. Fry the grated carrot in ghee for few minutes.
  4. Grind the fried carrot and soaked cashew nut to a coarse paste.Add to the milk and add sugar and simmer till everything blends well.
  5. Finally add the cardamom powder and serve chilled.
