Chattiyappam

Ingredients: 

  1. Maida     6    cups
  2. Egg     2    no.
  3. For Filling
    1. Boneless Chicken  Shredded    2    Kg
    2. Onion   Finely Chopped     12    no.
    3. Ginger Garlic Paste      ½    cup
    4. Green Chillies   Finely Chopped     8    no.
    5. Curry Leaves  -chopped    1    cup
    6. Coriander Leaves  -chopped    1    cup
    7. Turmeric Powder      1    tsp
    8. Garam Masala      1    tsp
  4. Oil Crushed    4    tbsp
  5. Ghee     2    tbsp
  6. Egg     8    no.
  7. Milk     2    tbsp
  8. Salt to taste     ½    tsp

Description:
 

  1. Cook shredded chicken with salt and turmeric powder. Saute the ingredients from 4 to 8 in the oil. Add turmeric powder and salt and saute again.
  2. Add cooked chicken,garam masala and coriander leaves. Mix well and set aside this filling.
  3. Mix maida with salt and beaten egg and make a dough. Make small balls out of the dough and flatten each ball in the size of a puri.
  4. Rub some oil and sprinkle maida over the puri. Place another puri over it. Rub some oil and also sprinkle some maida over it. Place another puri over it.
  5. Repeat this till all the puris are placed on f top of another. Again flatten this altogether in the size of a chapatti. Then each layers will get separated and it will be very thin.
  6. Mix 4 beaten eggs,milk,pepper powder and coriander leaves and blend it well. Keep it in a bowl.
  7. Heat a non stick pan on a law flame. Rub some ghee, sprinkle some maida And place one layer of chapatti in the pan. Pour some egg mixture and put some fillings on it. Spread it evenly with a spoon.
  8. Place another layer of chapatti on it, pour egg mixture and over it put some chicken fillings. Continue this process till all the chapatti layer is finished.
  9. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top chapatti layer. Cover with a lid a cook on both sides for about half an hour on low flame.
  10. When chattiyappam is cooled,Cut into triangular shapes and serve.
