  1. Basmati Rice     250    g
  2. Baby brinjal     200    g
  3. Red Chillies     4    nos.
  4. Mustard Seeds     1    tsp
  5. Split Black gram dal     1    tsp
  6. Split Chana Dal      1    tsp
  7. Asafoetida Powder    ½    tsp
  8. Curry Leaves , chopped    1    tsp
  9. Coriander Seeds (Malli)     2    tsp
  10. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  11. Grated Coconut     ½    tsp
  12. Oil     ½    cup
  13. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Cook rice in cooker.
  2. Pour a little oil in pan and fry split gram, coriander seeds and red chilly. Powder them smoothly.
  3. Pour oil in pan. Sprout mustard, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  4. Add chopped baby brinjal in pan along with turmeric powder and salt. Stir brinjal well.
  5. When brinjal is half fried,add powdered masala and fry until it gets fully fried.
  6. Add rice with fried brinjal and stir well.
