  1. Cauliflower     100    g
  2. Onion     4    nos.
  3. Garlic     50    g
  4. Coriander Leaves     ½    cup
  5. Spinach     1    cup
  6. Ginger     1    piece
  7. Bengal gram     250    g
  8. Green Chillies     6    nos.
  9. Rice Powder     1    tsp
  10. Cinnamon Pieces (Patta)     1    piece
  11. Fennel Seeds(Perumjeerakam)     1    tsp
  12. Cloves (Kariampo)     5    nos.
  13. Cardamom Seeds (Elakka)     4    nos.
  14. Oil For deep frying     1    cup
  15. Salt to taste    ½    tsp


  1. Chop coriander and spinach leaves finely.
  2. Cut onion, ginger and cauliflower.
  3. Grind garlic, an onion, ginger, green chilly, cinnamon, fennel seeds, cloves and brown cardamom smoothly with water.
  4. Mix bengal gram flour, rice flour, cauliflower, chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, grounded masala and salt with sufficient water.Make it in to a dough.
  5. Pour oil in a pan. When it is heated prepare small pieces of pakodi from the dough. Deep fry until pakodis turn brown in colour.
  6. Serve it hot.
