  1. Boneless Fish     500    g
  2. Finely Chopped Onion     2    nos.
  3. Green Chillies Slit length-wise    3    nos.
  4. Finely Chopped Garlic     3    cloves
  5. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  6. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  7. Coriander Powder     2    tsp
  8. Garam Masala Powder    ½    tbsp
  9. Mustard Seeds     ½    tbsp
  10. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     ½    tbsp
  11. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  12. Chopped Coriander Leaves     2    tbsp
  13. Salt to taste    ½    tsp
  14. Oil     2    tbsp


  1. Boil water in a pan. Add fish pieces. Salt and Turmeric powder. Cook them for 5 minutes or till they are tender.
  2. Then drain the water and mash the fish in a bowl.Add chilli powder, Corainder powder, Garam masala powder and mix well. Keep this aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds and Urad dal. Once it starts spluttering add Curry leaves. Green chili and garlic.Fry till they are light brown.
  4. Then add finely chopped onion and fry till they are golden brown. Then add mashed fish and fry till they become golden brown. Add salt if necessary.
  5. Finally add chopped Coriander leaves and remove from heat.
  6. Serve it hot.
