Ingredients: 

  1. Basmati Rice     300    g
  2. Prawns     600    g
  3. Sliced Onion     ¼    cup
  4. Coriander Leaves -chopped    1    tbsp
  5. Grated Coconut     1    tbsp
  6. Coconut Milk     500    ml
  7. Lime Juice     1    tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  9. Green Chillies     2    no.
  10. Garam Masala     1    tsp
  11. Ghee     2    tbsp

Description:
 

  1. Wash and drain the rice and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Clean and remove the heads of the prawms.
  3. Heat Ghee or oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add bay leaves and garam Masala Let it crackle.
  4. Add sliced onion, fry till the onion turns brown
  5. Add water, turmeric powder, lemon juice and green chillies slit into two. Bring it to boil and add rice cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Seperately cook prawns with coconut milk for a minutes. Stir lightly.
  7. Stir till rice absorbs all the water and then cover it with a lid and cook it on a slow fire till rice and prawns are fully cooked.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated fresh coconut.
  9. Serve it hot.
