Green Chilli- Coriander Chutney

  1. Green Chillies     350    g
  2. Gingelly Oil     0    cup
  3. Black gram dal     1    cup
  4. Mustard Seeds     1    tsp
  5. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  6. Salt     1    tsp
  7. Tamarind     10    g
  8. Coriander Leaves     2    cup


  1. Heat a little oil. Fry asafoetida. Remove and keep aside.
  2. Fry mustard and blackgram dhal.Keep these three together.
  3. Remove stalk from green chillies.Fry and scald well, using the rest of the oil.
  4. Wipe the grinder clean and dry. Pick out seeds and fibre from tamarind.Grind tamarind and salt in the mortar, without adding water.
  5. Add scalded green chillies and grind well with it. Add the coriander leaves and grind.
  6. When ground in to a smooth paste, add seasonings also, and grind lightly, and serve.
