  1. Bread     1    Packets
  2. Oil     4    tsp
  3. Cashew Nuts     12    nos.
  4. Green Chillies     4    nos.
  5. Ginger     1    piece
  6. Onion     75    g
  7. Ghee     4    tsp
  8. Masala Powder    ½    tsp
  9. For seasonings
    1. Mustard Seeds      1    tsp
    2. Black gram dal      2    tsp
    3. Red Chillies      2    nos.
    4. Curry Leaves      1    stalks


  1. Peel and chop onions, in to fine bits. Remove crust from the bread.
  2. Cut the bread in to small squares.Sprinkle a little water, and mix. When it becomes slightly wet, pinch it.
  3. Heat ghee and oil in a pan or uruli. Fry the seasonings a little.
  4. Add cashewnuts and fry to a golden brown.
  5. Add green chillies, ginger and chopped onion and fry well.
  6. Add bread, with powdered salt, asafoetida solution and curry leaves. Turn and cook for a minute or two.
  7. Remove from fire. Masala powder should be added at the last stage.If more ghee is required, add.
  8. Since the bread itself is just a little sour, there is no need to add buttermilk or lime juice.
  9. However,a few drops of lime juice can be added, just before serving, if so desired
