Mysore Cake

  1. Cashew Nuts     100    g
  2. Bengal gram     1    cup
  3. Ghee     1    cup
  4. Kesari Powder     1    pinch
  5. Sugar     2¾    cup
  6. Milk     1½    cup


  1. Soak cashewnuts in hot water. Wash well and grind in to a very smooth paste.
  2. Add 1 cup of water to the sugar and prepare syrup.
  3. When the syrup boils, add 1 ladle of milk. Remove dirt. Wait till the syrup becomes thick.
  4. Add cashewnut paste to the syrup and stir well.
  5. When the mixture begins to boil and mixes well, add the flour to it, sprinkling little by little. Go on stirring taking care to avoid lumps.
  6. After the whole flour has been added, stir well.Mix a little kesari powder in water and add.
  7. Add ghee little by little, stirring continuously at the same time.
  8. When the mixture bubbles up and gives out a nice appetising smell, due to frothing, pour it out on a tray, greased with a little ghee.
  9. Flatten it out evenly, with a plantain leaf. Let cool for a few minutes.
  10. Cut in to small cakes. Remove when cooled well.
