  1. Chicken cleaned and cut into small pieces    1    Kg
  2. Chilli Powder     4    tbsp
  3. Fennel Seeds(Perumjeerakam) Powder    1    tsp
  4. Cinnamon (Patta) Powder     1    tsp
  5. Cloves (Kariampo) Powdered    1    tsp
  6. Pepper Powder     2    tsp
  7. Turmeric Powder Crushed    ½    tsp
  8. Ginger Crushed    2    pieces
  9. Garlic Crushed    6    cloves
  10. Tomato  Finely Chopped     2    nos.
  11. Small Onion / Shallot Crushed    8    nos.
  12. Curd     1    cup
  13. Curry Leaves     2    stalks
  14. Tomato Sauce     2    tbsp
  15. Butter     3    tbsp
  16. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  17. Oil     ½    cup
  18. Red colour powder [Optional]    1    pinch


  1. Mix the ingredients from 2 to 6,turmeric powder,curd and 1 spoonful of butter . Marinate the chicken pieces with half amount of this masala for 2 hours.
  2. Cook the marinated chicken pieces without adding water in a low flame.
  3. Heat oil in a non stick pan and fry the cooked chicken pieces. Keep it aside and drain the oil.
  4. In the remaining oil add 2 tablespoon butter and saute crushed small onion,ginger and garlic till golden brown.
  5. Then add curry leaves and chopped tomato, saute well. Add the remaining masala and fry for a couple of minutes until the oil separates.
  6. Add roasted chicken pieces and stir well until the chicken is well mixed with masala.
  7. Now add tomato sauce. Mix well and remove from the fire. Serve hot. Best combination with naan or roti.
