  1. Basmati Rice     2    cup
  2. Coconut Milk     2    cup
  3. Grated Carrot     ¼    cup
  4. Onion     2    nos.
  5. Green Beans     ½    cup
  6. Bread Cut in to small pieces    5    nos.
  7. Coconut     ½    cup
  8. Cashew Nuts     10    g
  9. Almonds     10    g
  10. Khus khus (Poppy Seeds)     2    tsp
  11. Black pepper Powder    1    tsp
  12. Cardamom Seeds (Elakka)     2    nos.
  13. Cinnamon Pieces (Patta)     1    pieces
  14. Cloves (Kariampo)     2    nos.
  15. Ginger Garlic Paste     1    tsp
  16. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  17. Coriander Leaves     1    stalks
  18. Ghee     3    tbsp
  19. Salt to taste     ½    tsp


  1. Dry roast and grind the cardamom,cloves and cinnamon to a fine powder.
  2. Heat little ghee in a pan, add basmati rice fry the for 10 minutes. Remove and keep aside.
  3. Add a little ghee to the pan and fry the bread pieces till crisp. keep aside.
  4. Grind the almonds, cashew nuts, coconut and poppy seeds to a smooth paste.
  5. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add the cinnamon powder, ginger garlic paste, onion salt and curry leaves saute well for a minutes.
  6. Add the carrot, green peas and ground coconut paste stir well. Add coconut milk bring to a boil.
  7. Add the rice and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
  8. Add pepper powder, bread slices, coriander leaves and mix well.
  9. Serve it hot.
