Ingredients: 

  1. Toor Dal     1    cup
  2. Drumsticks     2    nos.
  3. Lady's Finger     4    nos.
  4. Potato     1    no.
  5. Carrot     1    no.
  6. Tomato     2    no.
  7. Channa Dal(Pottu Kadala)     1    tbsp
  8. Chilli Powder     1    tbsp
  9. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  10. Coriander Powder     2    tbsp
  11. Fenugreek Seeds(Uluva)     ¼    tsp
  12. Mustard Seeds     1    tsp
  13. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  14. Small  Onion     4    nos.
  15. Garlic     3    nos.
  16. Tamarind (Lemon size)    1    no.
  17. Red Chillies     2    no.
  18. Grated Coconut     1    cup
  19. Coconut Oil     4    tsp
  20. Curry Leaves     3    stalks

Description:
 

  1. Cook the dal in pressure cooker adding required water and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida,pottu kadala and uluva.
  3. Add greated coconut, small onion,garlic and curry leaves.
  4. Stir it and fry till golden brown.
  5. Add coriander powder and chilly powder.
  6. Roast the ingredients to become a red colour. When it is cold, grind these to a paste.
  7. Mix all the choped vegetables and salt into the cooked dal.
  8. Pour tamarind pulp and enough water.
  9. Cover and cook it till the vegetables done.
  10. Finally add the grinded masala paste,allow it to boil.
  11. Heat oil in another pan,splutter mustard seeds and fry red chillies and curry leaves.
  12. Pour it over the curry and serve it.
