  1. Dry Prawns     1    cup
  2. Grated Coconut     1    cup
  3. Small Onion / Shallot     5    nos.
  4. Ginger -chopped    ½    tsp
  5. Green Chillies     5    nos.
  6. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  7. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  8. Kudampuli Small    2    piece
  9. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  10. Coconut Oil     2    tbsp


  1. Clean the dried prawns and soak it in water for about 15 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Soak the fish kudampuli in water for about 5 minutes.
  3. Coarsely grind together grated coconut, shallots, green chilies, ginger and turmeric powder.
  4. In a manchatti, clay pot combine together dried prawns, kudampuli, prepared coconut mixture, curry leaves and salt to taste. Mix well until combined.
  5. Add required amount of water , cover and cook for about 15 minutes.
  6. Uncover and cook until it it almost dry. Drizzle 1 tsp coconut oil on top, if desired. Serve it hot.
