  1. Fish     ½    Kg
  2. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  3. Pepper Powder     ½    tsp
  4. Turmeric Powder     ½    tsp
  5. Ginger Garlic Paste     1    tsp
  6. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  7. Lemon Juice     1    tsp
  8. Coconut Oil     2    tbsp
  9. Mustard Seeds     ½    tsp
  10. Small Onion / Shallot Thinly sliced    2    cups
  11. Green Chillies  Finely Chopped     2    nos.
  12. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  13. Ginger  Finely Chopped     1    pieces
  14. Tomato seeds removed and cut into small pieces    1    no.
  15. Garlic     5    cloves
  16. Red Chillies Flakes    1    tsp
  17. Ground Black peppercorns     ½    tsp
  18. Lemon Juice     1    tsp


  1. Marinate the fish pieces with the other ingredients 2- 6. Set aside for 10 minutes. Shallow fry in 2 tbsp coconut oil until brown and done.
  2. In the remaining oil, add 1 tbsp of oil. Splutter mustard seeds and add thinly sliced onion, a pinch of salt, ginger, green chilly and curry leaves.
  3. Saute until light golden.Add crushed chilly flakes and minced garlic. Saute for a few more minutes. Add fresh ground pepper powder. Mix well.
  4. Add the fish pieces and mix well. Break the fish pieces slightly using a spatula. Add the tomato slices and saute everything for a couple of minute.
  5. Mix well and add a tsp of lemon juice. Sprinkle fresh cracked pepper and switch off. Set aside for 10 minutes. Serve with rice and other side dishes.
