Raw Jack Fruit Biriyani

Ingredients: 

  1. Basmati Rice     ½    Kg
  2. Raw Jackfruit Cut in to small pieces    2    cups
  3. Turmeric Powder     1    pinch
  4. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  5. Bay leaves     1    nos.
  6. Cashew Nuts     10    g
  7. Raisins (Unakka Munthiri)     10    g
  8. Green Chillies -chopped    5    nos.
  9. Ginger Garlic Paste     1    tsp
  10. Mint Leaves(Pudina)     ½    cups
  11. Coriander Leaves     ½    cups
  12. Curd     1    cup
  13. Red Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  14. Garam Masala Powder    1    tsp
  15. Sliced Onion     2    nos.
  16. Oil     4    tbsp

Description:
 

  1. In a pan, fry onions till golden brown colour and keep aside. Soak basmati rice and cook 70 % and keep aside.
  2. Now take raw jack fruit apply oil to hand , cut the skin and make in to cubes . take pressure cooker add jack fruit pieces, turmeric powder salt little water and cook till it is 80% done.
  3. Take a pan add oil , whole garam masala, bay leaf, cashew nut, raisins, green chillie, ginger garlic paste, salt and mix well.
  4. Noe add boiled jack fruit, saute it then add mint leaves, coriander leaves, curd,if required, and cook it well.
  5. Now spread the jack fruit all over the pan then add fried onions, chilli powder, add 70% cooked rice, mint leaves, coriander leaves, onions left over, add food colour,(optional-as required) cover it with a lid and cook on slow flame for about 10 minutes.
