  1. Kovakkai(Ivy Gourd) Slices    ½    Kg
  2. Small Onion / Shallot     10    nos.
  3. Green Chillies sliced    5    nos.
  4. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  5. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  6. Coriander Powder     1    tsp
  7. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  8. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  9. Grated Coconut     1    cups
  10. Kudampuli     2    no.
  11. Coconut Oil     3    tbsp


  1. Soak the kudam puli in enough water. Tear them with your hands into small pieces.
  2. Crush the ingredients numbered 2 with your hands and combine with sliced kovakka in a claypot. Mix well.
  3. Sprinkle 3 tbsp water and cook covered at med low heat. Stir well in between.
  4. It will take around 25 minutes at medium low heat. Open the lid and add 3 tsp coconut oil. Mix well and serve it hot.
