  1. Idly     10    nos.
  2. Rice Powder     1    tsp
  3. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste     ½    tsp
  5. Soya Sauce     1    tsp
  6. Vinegar     1    tsp
  7. Chilli Powder     ½    tsp
  8. Coriander Powder     ½    tsp
  9. Garam Masala Powder    ½    tsp
  10. Red food colouring     1    pinch
  11. Corn Flour     2    tbsp
  12. Maida     2    tsp
  13. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  14. Coriander Leaves -chopped    2    stalks
  15. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  16. Oil for frying    ½    cup


  1. Cut the idli’s into cubical shape or square shape. Heat a kadai with little oil and add the idli’s and turmeric powder and cook them until they become soft.
  2. In a plate add the ginger garlic paste, soya sauce, vinegar, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt, red food colour, corn flour, maida flour and rice flour and mix them well.
  3. Add the idli to this mixture and leave it for at least 15 to 20 minutes to get marinated. Now heat oil in the kadai and fry the idli’s in small batches.
  4. Finally fry some curry leaves and add to the fried idli’s . Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with tomato sauce.
