Potato Poriyal

  1. Potato Cut in to cubes    3    nos.
  2. Mustard Seeds     0    tsp
  3. Cumin Seeds     ½    tsp
  4. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     1    tsp
  5. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  6. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  7. Onion -chopped    1    nos.
  8. Garlic     2    cloves
  9. Green Chillies -chopped    2    nos.
  10. Coconut grated    2    tbsp
  11. Coriander Leaves -chopped    2    tbsp
  12. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  13. Oil     2    tbsp


  1. Oil potato peel off the skin then cut into cubes. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds let it crackle.
  2. Then add cumin seeds, urad dal and bengal gram saute.
  3. Add curry leaves and asafoetida add onion, garlic, green chilli and salt saute well.
  4. Add boiled potato saute finally add coconut and coriander leaves saute gently. Cut off heat serve hot with chappathi.
