Beetroot Rava Kesari

  1. Beetroot     2    nos.
  2. Rava(Sooji)     1    cup
  3. Ghee     4    tbsp
  4. Cashew Nuts     10    g
  5. Raisins (Unakka Munthiri)     10    g
  6. Cardamom(Elakka) Powder     1    tsp
  7. Water as required     2    cup
  8. Sugar     ½    cups


  1. Peel off the beetroot skin, clean with water and grate it. Blend the beetroot and 2 cup off water in a blender.
  2. Filter the mixture through a sieve and extract the juice. Dry roast rava and keep it aside.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast cashew nuts, raisins and keep it aside. Pour beetroot juice in the same pan and let it boil.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of ghee to it and add one cup of sugar and mix well. When the beetroot juice boils add the fried rava into it little by little and stir well for 5 minutes in a low flame.
  5. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Then add 2 tbsp of ghee and mix well. Finally add the fried cashew nuts, raisins and mix well.
  6. Beetroot rava kesari is ready. Serve it.
