  1. Irumbampuli     50    nos.
  2. Garlic     ½    cup
  3. Ginger     2    tbsp
  4. Vinegar     2    tbsp
  5. Chilli Powder     2    tbsp
  6. Fenugreek Powder     ¼    tsp
  7. Asafoetida Powder    ¼    tsp
  8. Mustard Seeds     ½    tsp
  9. Hot water     1    cup
  10. Curry Leaves     2    stalks
  11. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  12. Oil     4    tbsp


  1. Wash the irumban puli well and dry with a cloth.
  2. Slice into small pieces mix some salt with the irumban puli pieces and dry in the hot sun for 2 day.
  3. Soak irumban puli in vinegar and hot water for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan splutter mustard seeds add sliced garlic, ginger and curry leaves.
  5. Add chilli powder, fenugreek powder, asafoetida and sauté well for 1 minute on very low flame.
  6. Add irumban puli with soaked water. Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame. Do not cover the pan. Serve after 2 hour.
