  1. Soaked Idli Rice     ½    cup
  2. Dried Red Chilli     5    nos.
  3. Besan flour     3    tsp
  4. Cumin Seeds     ½    tsp
  5. sesame seeds     ½    tsp
  6. Water as required     ¼    cup
  7. Papad     20    nos.
  8. Oil for deep frying    1    cup
  9. Salt to taste     ½    tsp


  1. Grind the idli rice and the dry red chillies to a smooth batter adding enough water.
  2. Add the cumin seeds, black seasame seeds, salt and kadalamavu mix well.
  3. Add more water if required. Dip the pappads in this batter and deep fry in oil one at a time until golden brown turning them over, in between.
  4. Serve it
