  1. To Marinate
    1. Karimeen      1    Kg
    2. Turmeric Powder      ½    tsp
    3. Pepper Powder      1    tsp
    4. Salt to taste  Powder    1    tsp
  2. For Frying
    1. Small Onion / Shallot      ½    Kg
    2. Tomato      ½    Kg
    3. Garlic      12    cloves
    4. Ginger      1    piece
    5. Curry Leaves      2    stalk
    6. Green Chillies      12    nos.
    7. Fenugreek Seeds(Uluva)  Powder    1    tsp
    8. Garam Masala  Powder    2    tsp
    9. Lime Juice      4    tsp
    10. Salt to taste      1    tsp
  3. Oil for frying    ½    cup
  4. Fresh Banana Leaf with out central stip     4    pieces


  1. Cut and make slits on the fish and clean thoroughly.
  2. Make a paste of pepper powder, turmeric powder, and salt by adding little water.
  3. Marinate the fish pieces with the above paste and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry the fish pieces over medium flame till the fish is tender.
  5. In a bowl mix all ingredients for frying .
  6. Heat oil in a pan, add all ingredients and Cook till it is soft or for 15 minutes.
  7. Take the banana leaves , spread the above mixture in it and place the fried fish piece over this mixture & wrap the fish gently.
  8. Steam cook it in an idly maker for at least 15 minutes.
  9. Serve it hot with best combinations.
