Kothu Idli With Chicken

  1. Crumbled Idly     10    nos.
  2. Onion  Finely Chopped     1    cup
  3. Ginger  Finely Chopped     1    tsp
  4. Garlic  Finely Chopped     2    tsp
  5. Green Chillies  Finely Chopped     2    nos.
  6. Curry Leaves     1    stalks
  7. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  8. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  9. Sugar     1    pinch
  10. Tomato -chopped    1    nos.
  11. Garam Masala Powder    ½    tsp
  12. Pepper Powder     ¼    tsp
  13. Salt to taste     ½    tsp


  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly and curry leaves. Sauté until onion turns light brown.
  2. Add turmeric podwer, chilly powder and sugar. Sauté until their raw smell disappears, add chopped tomatoes and cook until oil separates.
  3. Add chicken pieces. Cook for 3-4 minutes until done. Add garam masala powder and mix well. next add idli pieces and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Crush the idlis and chicken pieces using a spatula while you cook. Sprinkle a pinch of pepper powder, a few curry leaves and mix well. switch off.
  5. Sprinkle some chopped cilantro, a tsp of coconut oil and serve hot.
