Ingredients: 

  1. To Prepare Syrup
    1. Sugar      2    cup
    2. Water      3    cup
    3. Cardamom(Elakka) Powder      2    pinch
    1. Maida      ½    cup
    2. Milk  Powder    1    cup
    3. Baking Powder      ½    tsp
    4. Butter      2    tbsp
    5. Milk      ¼    cup
  2. Ghee for frying    4    tbsp

Description:
 

  1. Mix together all the ingredients for sugar syrup and heat it until the sugar is well dissolved in water. Keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl mix together milk powder, maida, baking soda and melted butter.
  3. Add enough milk and knead it to make a soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into 18-20 portions, take each portion and gently roll between your palms to make it a smooth ball.
  5. Heat ghee in a pan, put the balls and deep fry it.
  6. When they are browned on all sides, slowly remove it from the ghee and put immediately in the warm sugar syrup.
  7. Keep it in the warm sugar syrup for atleast one day.
  8. Gulab Jamun is ready. Enjoy it.
