  1. Maida     ½    Kg
  2. Ghee     1    tsp
  3. Yeast     ½    tsp
  4. Sugar     2    tsp
  5. Warm Milk     1    cup
  6. Egg Yolk     2    nos.
  7. Curd     1    tsp
  8. Oil for deep frying    1½    cups


  1. In a large bowl add the maida and ghee mix it well.
  2. In an another bowl dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk.Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  3. Beat the yolk and salt well.
  4. Slowly add the curd,milk and yolk mixture into maida and knead well to form a soft dough.
  5. Shape dough into a ball and rub a few drops of oil.
  6. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for 1-2 hours.
  7. Divide the dough into 10 portions and roll each one into a round ball.
  8. Dip a flattened ball into the dry flour and coat it on all sides.
  9. Using a rolling pin, roll out each ball into a round shape.
  10. Heat oil in a wok,slide the rolled dough carefully into the hot oil and just press them lightly with a spatula so that it will swell up like a ball.
  11. Flip the batura over and cook the other side until golden brown.
  12. Serve baturas hot with best combination or they will become leathery when cold.
