  1. White Rice     1    cup
  2. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     ¼    cup
  3. Green Chillies -chopped    4    no.
  4. Onion -chopped    1    no.
  5. Carrot -chopped    2    nos.
  6. Oil     1    tbsp


  1. Wash and soak rice and dal separately for 4 hours.
  2. Grind well adding required quantity of water.
  3. Add salt and stir it well to form a thick batter.
  4. Keep it overnight to ferment.
  5. Mix carrot,onion and green chillies in a bowl.
  6. Heat the greased frying pan and pour one spoon full of batter.
  7. Sprinkle the vegetables over it.Cover with a lid and cook it on a low flame.
  8. Remove lid and pour 1 tsp of oil on its edges. When the base is golden brown,turn over the other side and allow to brown.
  9. Serve it hot with best combination.
