    1. Channa Dal(Pottu Kadala)      100    g
    2. Oil      2    tbsp
    3. Garlic  -chopped    5    cloves
    4. Green Chillies  sliced    3    nos.
    5. Tomato  -chopped    1    no.
    6. Salt to taste      1    tsp
    7. Turmeric Powder      ¼    tsp
    8. Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    9. Channa Masala      ½    tsp
    10. Garam Masala      ½    tsp
    1. Cashew Nuts      15    g
    2. Khus khus (Poppy Seeds)      10    g
    3. Tomatoes      50    g
    4. Kasoori Methi (Fenugreek Leaves)  -chopped    1    pinch
    5. Onion  -chopped    1    no.


  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry onion till golden brown.
  2. Grind onion with cashew nuts,khus khus,tomatoes and kasoori methi.And to prepare a fine paste.
  3. Cook the channa well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add ginger,garlic,green chillies and tomatoes.
  5. Add all powder and stir it well.
  6. Add cooked channa, salt and prepared paste.
  7. Cook it in a slow fire till the gravy thickens.
