  1. Roasted Rice Powder     2    cups
  2. Grated Coconut     1½    cup
  3. Small Onion / Shallot     10    nos.
  4. Cumin Seeds     ½    tsp
  5. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  6. Boiled Water     1    cup


  1. Crush the coconut,small onions and cumin seeds well.
  2. Mix together the crushed items,rice powder and salt.
  3. Slowly add the water and knead well to make soft dough.
  4. Make small balls from the dough.Flatten the rice balls on the banana leaf like pathiri.
  5. Place another banana leaf on top and cover it.
  6. Heat a munchatty and place it.After a few seconds,turn it over.
  7. Serve with milk and sugar.
