  1. Cleaned Prawns     ½    Kg
  2. Drumsticks -cut into 1 ½"length pieces    2    no.
    1. Grated Coconut      1    cup
    2. Coriander Powder      3    tsp
    3. Chilli Powder      2    tsp
    4. Curry Leaves      2    stalks
    5. Grated Cumin Seeds Powder      1    pinch
    1. Turmeric Powder      ½    tsp
    2. Green Chillies      3    nos.
    3. Small Onion / Shallot  sliced    ¼    cup
  3. Coconut Oil     2    tsp
  4. Mustard Seeds     ½    tsp
    1. Dry Red Chillies      2    no.
    2. Small Onion / Shallot  sliced    5    no.
    3. Curry Leaves      1    stalk
  5. Tamarind     1    piece


  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the ingredients of no.3 till golden brown.Let it be cool and grind it.
  2. In manchatty(clay pot)mix together the prawns,drumstick and ingredients of no.4 and cook it well,adding little water.
  3. Pour the tamarind juice into it and stir well.
  4. Add the coconut mixture into it and allow it to boil.
  5. Heat oil in a wok add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter,add small onion,red chillies and curry leaves.
  6. Pour over the curry to season.
