  1. Boiled Rice     1    cup
  2. White Rice     1    cup
  3. Urad Dal(Uzhunnuparippu)     1    cup
  4. Grated Coconut     1    cup
  5. Cumin Seeds     1    tsp
  6. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  7. Oil for frying    2    tbsp


  1. Wash and soak the rice and dal separately in defferent vessels for 6 hours.
  2. Grind rice and dal separately, adding required quantity of water.
  3. Grind together the coconut,boiled rice and cuming seeds.
  4. Mix it all the batters well, adding salt and prepare just like Idly batter.
  5. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  6. Heat oil in a wok pour the mixture and fry it till soft.
  7. Flip over it and cook it well.
  8. Drain it on an absorbent paper and serve it.
