  1. Small Potatoes     ½    Kg
  2. Onion -chopped    2    no.
  3. Tomato puree     2    tbsp
  4. Green Chillies     5    nos.
  5. Garlic     4    cloves
  6. Ginger     1    piece
  7. Yoghurt     2    tbsp
  8. Cinnamon Pieces (Patta)     1    no.
  9. Chilli Powder     1    tsp
  10. Coriander Powder     2    tsp
  11. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  12. Garam Masala     1    tsp
  13. Cumin Seeds     ½    tsp
  14. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  15. Oil     2    tbsp
  16. Coriander Leaves -chopped    2    stalks


  1. Wash and cook the potatoes in pressure cooker.
  2. Grind the onion, garlic, ginger and green chillies.
  3. Heat oil in a wok,add cumin seeds. When it turns brown,add the above paste and stir for 3 minutes.
  4. Add garam masala and cloves. Stir it well.
  5. Beat the yogurt with chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
  6. Pour yogurt and enough water into the wok and stir continously for 5 minutes.
  7. Mix the tomato puree, peeled potatoes and salt.
  8. Cover and cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes. Till the oil separates from the gravy.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
