Serving Size:  4  Adults


  1. Rice     1    cup
  2. Moong Dal(Cherupayar Parippu)     ¼    cup
  3. Cashew Nuts     12    nos.
  4. Asafoetida     1    pinch
  5. Ginger     1    piece
  6. Pepper     5    no.
  7. Cumin Seeds Powder     1    tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder     ¼    tsp
  9. Ghee     40    g


  1. Dry roast rice and dal seperatly in a pan.
  2. Wash them.Add salt and turmeric powder to it and cook till done
  3. Fry ginger,pepper,cumin powder and asafoetida in ghee.
  4. When the pongal is ready,add the above mixture into it.
  5. Fry cashewnuts in the ghee and mix with the pongal.
