  1. Channa     1    cup
  2. Onion -chopped    2    nos.
  3. Tomato -chopped    ½    cup
  4. Green Chillies -chopped    2    nos.
  5. Ginger -chopped    1    piece
  6. Garlic -chopped    5    cloves
  7. Sugar     1½    tbsp
  8. Coriander Leaves -chopped    3    stalks
  9. Oil     5    tbsp
  10. Salt to taste     1    tsp
  11. Water     2    cups
  12. To Prepare Channa Masala
    1. Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    2. Coriander Powder      2    tsp
    3. Cumin Seeds Powder      ¾    tsp
    4. Amchur Powder (Dry Mango Powder)      ½    tsp


  1. Heat a non-stick pan, over slow fire dry roast all above mentioned powders.Stir it well and keep it aside.
  2. Wash and soak Channa for 5-6 hours.
  3. Pressure cook the channa,adding enough water and salt.Keep it aside.
  4. Heat Oil in a pan fry onion till golden brown.
  5. Add sliced tomato and sugar, fry it well.
  6. Add ginger,garlic and above prepared channa masala.Mix it well.
  7. Add cooked channa,salt and enough water.Cook it till the gravy thickens.
  8. Add coriander leaves and stir it well.
  9. Remove from fire and serve with best combinations.
