Ingredients: 

  1. Papad     5    no.
  2. Tamarind Pulp    2    tbsp
  3. Sambar Powder (available in market)     2    tsp
  4. Asafoetida     ¼    tsp
  5. Curry Leaves     1    stalk
  6. Mustard Seeds     ¼    tsp
  7. Fenugreek Seeds(Uluva)     ¼    tsp
  8. Oil     2    tbsp

Description:
 

  1. Tear papads into tiny bits.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds.
  3. Add the fenugreek seeds and roast until its golden brown in colour.
  4. Add papad pieces and stir until it puff up.
  5. Add 1 cup of water, tamarind pulp, sambar powder, asafoetida, salt and some curry leaves. Cover and cook over a medium flame for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove Kuzhambu from heat when the gravy thickens.
  7. 'Appalam Vathal Kuzhambu' is ready to serve.
